Name: Heather Nichols
Significant other/children/pets: married to Chad, daughters Tacy and Hana, 2 cats Mika and Shy
When/why did you start stamping: When I was about 12 I got a tackle box full of stamps for a
Christmas gift from my parents – I have been going ever since!
Describe your style: I have been told I have a very clean and sort of rustic style. I also think that my
style also has a whimsical feel. You might notice that I like to use white ink and kraft colored paper a
lot in my projects.
5. Favorite color: I love green!
6. Favorite stamping technique: I really love to watercolor! Other favorite techniques are emboss
resist and cracked glass.
7. What do you listen to while stamping: Some of my favorite CD’s lately are: Norah Jones, The
Weepies, Little Miss Sunshine soundtrack, Jack Johnson. I also watch movies while I stamp - favorites
I watch over and over: In Her Shoes, Ever After, While You Were Sleeping, Love Actually…
8. Favorite paper project accent (ribbon, patterned paper, brads, etc): I LOVE accents, but I don’t
tend to use a lot on my projects. I love ribbons (ginghams, stripes and polka dot patterns) and
definitely brads – I always stock up on the brushed silver ones…
9. When you hear the word “stamp” what does it make you visualize/ feel: When I think about the
word “stamp”, I think about being in my stamp corner (in my basement) and creating. I also dream
about the day when I will have a wonderful stamp studio space to organize my supplies and work!
10. Why do you stamp: I have always done rubber stamping since receiving my first stamps. In
college I majored in graphic design and printmaking - stamping naturally flowed right from this as my
creative design outlet now that I am home with my girls. Stamping is design and printmaking!
11. What inspires you: I am inspired by things everywhere, everyday: colors I see, details on clothes,
how a home is decorated, magazine, shopping, new stamping and scrapbook supplies, and of course
from my friends and family.
